Over a quarter century of railroad contracting experience at R. W. Summers makes Charles Merritt a natural as company president and CEO. Quick to grasp new concepts and knowledge, he began as a track welder/operator with the company and has successfully mastered nine positions over the years. During that time, he served as track supervisor, supply supervisor, superintendent, vice president, president/general manager and executive vice president. He received welding skills at Polk Vocational Tech and surveying knowledge from Polk Community College.
JEAN STINSON - Vice President
Not long after the company's inception, Stinson began working for R. W. Summers in December 1967 as a secretary/bookeeper/office manager. Her business acumen and railroad industry experience has earned her appointments on state, gubernatorial as well as national small business conferences. The Alabama native was appointed for eight years to the Florida Guardian Advisory Council of the National Federation of Independent Business and received a Blue Chip Enterprise Award for R. W. Summers as a 1991 Florida designee.
